I accept cash, check, credit/debit card, and Zelle payments.
Please reach out to inquire about current fees.
I do not bill insurance; however, I am an out-of-network provider for all PPO insurance plans. At the end of each month, I will provide you with an invoice (also known as a "superbill") [https://www.goodrx.com/insurance/health-insurance/superbill-therapy].
To better understand your out-of-network insurance benefits, you can ask your insurance provider the following questions:
Call the number on your insurance card and ask:
"What percentage am I reimbursed for routine behavioral health care out-of-network?"
"What is my out-of-network deductible?" Confirm whether you have a deductible for out-of-network providers and how much it is.
"How much of my deductible have I already met?"
"Is there an 'allowable amount' for behavioral healthcare services?" This may also be referred to as "reasonable and customary fees." They might ask for the type of licensure, which is "LCSW."
If needed, ask what the reimbursement rate is for CPT/procedure code 90837 (a typical therapy session) and CPT/procedure code 90791 (your initial session with me, which includes a diagnostic interview).
If further clarification is needed, you can provide the following information:
Macy Ragole Toomey, LCSW
License Number: CA LCSW #99735
With this information, you will understand how much you need to pay out of pocket before your insurance benefits apply (your deductible). You will also learn what percentage of your payment will be reimbursed by your insurance once you've met the deductible. Typically, you will pay my full fee ($200 per session) directly to me, and the insurance company will reimburse you a percentage, which varies by plan. I can help guide you through this process initially.
I am able to work with psychiatrists in co-treatment. I am happy to consider working with your current psychiatrist or PCP or help connect you to one of the psychiatrists I work with already.
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
